Vent Covers Unlimited Blog and News

Aug 02, 2013

Welcome to the first entry on our Vent Covers Unlimited blog. We hope to regularly inform you on any number of topics in regard to vent covers and floor registers.

Our first topic will cover our most commonly asked question:

What size vent cover or floor register do I need?

First, start by removing your current vent cover. You may need a screwdriver for this part, especially if the vent cover is on the wall or ceiling. Second, use a tape measure or ruler to measure the width and length of the opening. Most vent cover and floor register retailers use these measurements to identify the item. The actual vent cover will be slightly larger than the vent opening, typically by about 1¼” all the way around. There will be some variation on this among manufacturers.

Once you have double checked the measurements, search for a design that matches your taste and/or the décor for a specific room. Metal vent covers and floor registers come in a variety of finishes and many of the wood products can be stained to match your wood floors.

If you have any questions regarding measuring or about a size you don’t see on our site please contact us at sales@ventcoversunlimited.com.

We look forward to hearing from you. Please feel free to respond or comment.
