We sell decorative vent covers, registers, grilles, and air returns for every surface in your home: floor, wall, ceiling, baseboard, and toe-kick. They come in wood (60+ species), brass, cast iron, cast aluminum, steel, and decorative resin. If you know your application, jump to the floor, wall, or ceiling collection. If you're not sure yet, this is the right page — filter by size, material, room, or finish to narrow it down.

It depends on where the vent is in your house. Floor vents (the ones built into hardwood, tile, or carpet) need heavy materials that can be walked on — wood, steel, brass, or cast iron. Wall vents are usually decorative and lighter. Ceiling vents need to be lightweight enough to stay safely overhead. If your vent is set into a baseboard, a kickplate under a cabinet, or feeds an HVAC return, those have dedicated collections too.

All four sit over a duct opening, but they do different jobs. A vent cover is the generic term — most people use it for anything that goes over an HVAC opening. A register has an adjustable damper, so you can open or close airflow to a room. A grille has no damper — it's a fixed cover. An air return (or return air grille) goes over the opening that pulls air back into your HVAC system to recycle it. If you can't redirect the airflow with the cover, it's a grille or return.

Wood vent covers match hardwood and engineered floors and can be stained to disappear into the boards. Brass and cast iron suit Victorian, Craftsman, and farmhouse homes — heavy, decorative, basically indestructible. Steel and cast aluminum work everywhere and come in the widest finish range (matte black, oil-rubbed bronze, satin nickel, polished brass). Decorative resin is the right call for ceiling and wall installs where weight is a concern. Plastic? Don't.

Yes — if your duct opening isn't a standard size, we make custom vent covers in any dimension, in any of our materials and finishes. Custom orders typically ship in 2–3 weeks. This is probably why you ended up here: pre-1970 homes, renovations, and houses where someone got creative with the duct work rarely have standard sizes. Send us your duct opening measurement (not the old cover) and we'll quote it.

We don't sell builder-grade. Every vent cover we make is solid wood, brass, cast iron, cast aluminum, or stamped steel with real powder coat — the kind that lasts as long as the house. Big-box plastic and stamped-steel covers cost less upfront, then yellow, dent, and look dated within a few years. We also make any custom size, which the big-box stores don't. If you've already replaced your plastic vents two or three times, this is the upgrade you should've made the first time.
